Hey, It's Dom!
A few research projects I've worked on recently at the Claremont UX Research Lab...
1 Heuristic Evaluation & Usability Test
Indoor Air QuaIity Platform
Over 8 weeks, led a team of five to assess a client’s existing air quality platform to assess its readiness to enter the consumer market after previously serving only B2B market.
Identified 6 key areas of product improvement to increase expected SUS score closer to the consumer benchmark score of 78.
2 Market Research & New Product Concept Evaluation
"Purposeful" a new wellness app
Over 14 weeks, I conducted interviews, competitive analysis, and mixed-methods concept testing, then built and tested a clickable Figma prototype. Results showed strong interest in daily reflection and progress tracking, with clear usability improvements.
This project demonstrates my ability to translate empirical psychological theory into a validated, user-centered product concept ready for MVP development.
3 Competitive Landscape & Market Entry Strategy
K-8 EdTech Robotics Platform
Over 8 weeks, led a team of four to assess a client’s entry into a new market, conducting competitive analysis across direct and indirect STEM robotics players to identify positioning gaps.
Identified whitespace in hybrid, screen-optional, purpose-driven learning and delivered a market entry recommendation with a defined ICP to guide validation interviews and de-risk expansion.
4 Market Research & New Product Evaluation
"MapNext" a new navigation app
Over 8 weeks, led a team of four to evaluate MapNext, a location-based app concept, using an explanatory mixed methods approach that combined market sizing and segmentation with user interviews.
Synthesized insights into a clear assessment of problem–solution fit, business viability, and differentiation, delivering a strategic recommendation to guide product and GTM decision.
